GLOBAL MISSIONS:
PANAMA - Randy, Donna, Jonathan, Jordan & Jesse Weets Randy and Donna Weets and their 3 adult sons, Jonathan, Jordan, and Jesse, have been in ministry in Panama for 28 years. God permitted Randy and Donna in 2001 to establish Iglesia Biblical Amsted, a Bible teaching church concentrating on training people to continue His work. In 2002 God allowed them to co-found Panama Christian Academy, a Christian school that trains and shapes many ethnic backgrounds in 3 languages, which has grown from 29 students to 900 students today. The beginning of 2015 brought new challenges in bringing the Spanish program of Grace School of Theology as a pilot program to Panama. Once again by His grace they are now able to have 25 students and 2 just graduated this year with an accredited bachelor of arts degree in Biblical Studies. FROM THE WEETS: "There are many thrilling things about serving the Lord together with Ridgely. We have been instrumental in bringing to Panama a Bible teaching radio station, establishing a Christian bookstore in 1996 that has served the Christian community of Panama and beyond with solid Christian literature for 20 years. Forming a music club that has allowed musicians to train, and play all over the world including a highlight in 2004 of being able to have 32 of them do a concert at Ridgley. It is in our heart, and much work has already been done, to establish the only Christian couples’ retreat center here in Panama. God initiated with couples in Genesis as the foundation and it is our prayer that He will develop Living Water Retreat Center to its full potential. Changing many marriages for eternity and His glory. Our ministry teeth-cutting days were at Ridgely Christian Church and though we were green and maybe sometimes embarrassed by our own weaknesses, we are deeply and eternally grateful that God chose to use you. Words fail to express adequately our hearts’ gratitude for all the faithful teaching, mentoring, and prayer and support that Ridgely and their pastor and his family has provided and shared with us for 3 decades. By God’s grace, what He saw fit to initiate at Ridgely and continue in Panama now extending to other parts of the world, will continue on, beyond our lives and into eternity. What a privilege it is to be participants together in His will." |
