GLOBAL MISSIONS:
MENDONZA, ARGENTINA - Dr. Paul and Beth Wright Paul and Beth Wright have served with Avant Ministries (formerly Gospel Missionary Union) since 1980. They arrived in Argentina in July of 1983 and have served in church planting ministries before becoming involved in their present ministries. “Our ministry is two-fold: to equip leadership for area churches through the IBEM (Mendoza Evangelical Bible Institute), and, through Corazones Abiertos (Open Hearts) to provide support for those who are examining the trauma of life experiences and the damage that this has caused in relationships.” The Bible Institute was started in 1997 with Paul serving as director since 1999. He has added being a full-time teacher and director of administration since 2002. “What we want to do,” Paul says, “is give the students the tools to make an impact in their local churches and community.” Under Beth’s direction Corozones Abiertos began in Mendoza in 2004 as a ministry to women. In 2006 a men’s group was started. Men and women from other cities have come on retreats offered in Mendoza since 2006. Beth states, “God continues to open up new opportunities to take hope to other cities.” Beth has also had a part in beginning this ministry in Mexico, Ecuador, Spain and Cuba. Paul and Beth have four grown children; Keren, Jonathan, Lisa and Benjamin. |
