GLOBAL MISSIONS:
BURKINA FASO, AFRICA - Robert and Amanda Kay Robert and Amanda Kay joined New Tribes Mission in 2005. Their sending church is the Baptist Church of Camden Point, Missouri. They are a local family who followed their calling to serve the Lord as missionaries. Robert and Amanda attended the Bible Institute for 2 years to receive education and training for their future work. After these beginning years the Kay family was assigned to the mission field in Burkina Faso, Africa (formerly Upper Volta). Burkina Faso means “the country of honorable people.” It is located in West Africa where many outside influences have created some similarities among the ethnic groups, however, language and cultural distinctions remain and tribal identities are strong. The Kay’s ministry of church planting includes cultural language acquisition. At present they are living in the city but have a tribal assignment and are in phase 1 of preparation and planning for relocation. Language study and learning incorporated with a language helper will continue their preparation, as well as a “sleep house.” The acquisition of electricity via solar panels is of major importance as is clean water. Please pray for Robert, Amanda and their children as they continue to move forward in their mission for the Lord and for the Bolon tribe in Burkina Faso. Robert and Amanda have five children; Noah, Riley, Lily, Gabriel, and Aidan who are all in the mission field with their parents. |
